Robyn Hayles is currently employed as the Chief Operating Officer of Community Health, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services at Barwon Health. Barwon Health is Australia’s largest regional health service. Barwon Health prides itself on being a leading quality health service having won the Premiers Quality Award for the Best Health Services twice in the past 3 years. Robyn has been working in the Executive role at Barwon Health since January 2009. Robyn joined Barwon Health in 2007 as Strategic Planner, following a 12 year employment history in management at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Robyn has worked in health for the past 24 years. Commencing in the field of nursing, Robyn’s area of focus and expertise has been in the system interface between acute based and community based care with a strong focus on hospital avoidance and service development. Robyn completed a Master of Public Health degree in 2001. She has an extensive background in leadership and management. As a transformational leader she has a proven track record of creating positive workplace cultures within teams, (evidenced by shifting workplace cultural results continually over a 4 year period, as per Best Practice Australia Survey results), service reform initiatives and delivering innovation in health care.
Robyn has attracted funding for, and lead, a range of new initiatives in the areas she has led. Recently this has included attracting funding for a range of new services including three new programs supporting people with chronic illness in the community including a Transition Service, a Progressive Neurology Service and Personalized Healthcare.
