Getting to Kardinia Health by Public Transport (Bus)

Bus services run to and from the Moorabool Street Bus Interchange in Geelong city to:

  • Deakin University, Waurn Ponds (Route 1)

The closest stop is Sirovilla Retirement Village on Colac Road which is approximately a 230 metre walk from Kardinia Health.

The service runs  at approximately 20 minute intervals with a travel time of approximately 18 minutes (this will vary with traffic conditions).

How do I make an appointment?

If you would like to make an appointment with one of our practitioners, please contact our reception staff on (03) 5202 9333.

You can now also make your appointments online via Hotdoc. You can download this app via your app store for free.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and choice of practitioner. Longer consultations are available, so please advise our reception staff if you require some extra time.

How do I arrange a Home Visit?

Home visits are provided at GP discretion for our registered patients unable to attend the clinic. To request a home visit, please contact our reception staff, 03 5202 9333, your request will be discussed with your GP and you will be notified of the GPs decision.

How do I arrange a After-hours Visit?

When our practice is closed, please call the National Home Visiting Doctor Service on 13 74 25.

This service is bulk billed upon presentation of a valid Medicare card.

Prescription of Pain Medication

The GPs at Kardinia Health do not prescribe drugs of dependence at the first consultation. An appointment with your regular GP is required for repeat prescription of pain medication or drugs of dependence including Opioids and Benzodiazepines.

Fees – What is Kardinia Health’s Billing Policy?

Holders of valid, Commonwealth Pension Card (excluding the Seniors Card) will be bulk billed for Medicare rebatable services.

A concession fee will apply to Health Care Card holders and patients under 16 of age.

The concession fee is approx. $20 out of pocket fee for Medicare rebatable services.

All other patients will be privately billed.

Fees for consultations and services at Kardinia Health are payable at the time of consultation by cash, MasterCard, Visa or EFTPOS.

From Monday 14th October GP appointments after 6pm Monday to Friday and GP appointments on Saturday 9am – 1pm will be charged at the following rates:

  • patients on a pension or a health care card or under 16 years of age will be charged the concession fee
  • all other patients will be privately billed.

At the practitioner’s discretion a fee may also be charged for missed appointments.

Removal of skin lesions

On request full disclosure of expected fees is provided prior to any procedure.

Procedure consumable fee of $30 applies.

Telephone Calls

You can contact your doctor by calling during surgery hours.

Our practitioners will generally not take calls whilst they are consulting, so if your doctor is unable to speak to you at the time that you call, you are welcome to leave a message so that they can return your call at their earliest opportunity.

Alternatively, you may wish to speak to one of our Practice Nurses.

Urgent calls will always be dealt with promptly.


Your Test Results

If your doctor refers you for pathology, imaging or other diagnostic tests they will advise you of when they anticipate your results to be received.

We will only contact you if your results require follow up.

Alternatively, you may wish to make an appointment to discuss your test results with your doctor.

Recall for abnormal results will be made either by phone or mail, so please ensure that we have your most up to date contact details.

Please note that test results will not be given over the telephone.
