Emily is a registered clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in both hospital settings and private practice. She has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, eating disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and disorders of childhood.  Emily is also experienced in providing counselling for relationship difficulties and fertility issues. Emily uses a predominantly cognitive behavioural therapy approach to modify unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and promote optimal functioning.  She is also interested in positive psychology interventions as a means of promoting wellbeing. 

 

Emily has spent the last two years living and working in mainland China where she was a consultant psychologist at a British international school.   During this time she established a positive psychology program in the nursery, delivered psychological therapy to students and staff, and presented numerous lectures on subjects such as positive parenting, emotion regulation in children, the adolescent brain, perfectionism and academic performance.  Emily has two children and loves travel.
