Professor Lee Kennedy
Professor Lee Kennedy commenced consulting at Kardinia Health in September 2013 and is a specialist General Physician and Endocrinologist.
Professor Kennedy completed his undergraduate training at the University of Edinburgh where he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine for his research into thyroid disease.
His post-graduate training was completed at the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield. He completed his PhD in Sheffield with studies on thyroid growth and development.
Professor Kennedy holds Fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Edinburgh and London, as well as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He has a strong track record in research with particular emphasis on thyroid disease, diabetes, obesity, vascular disease, and the use of information technology in medicine.
Professor Kennedy has held a number of senior positions including Professor of Medicine at James Cook University in Queensland, Professor of Medicine at Deakin University and Barwon Health in Geelong, and Head of the Medical School at Deakin University. He is currently a Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Health at Deakin University.
Professor Kennedy has published extensively in medical literature and is author of four books.
